Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course focuses on the anthology horror television series American Horror Story. From the engaging anthology format to the employed horror elements, AHS is a unique example of television horror. The series draws on American history but also contemporary ideologies and concerns, explicating real American horror stories. This course examines how AHS tells past horrors and anticipates new nightmares. While the course provides a detailed analysis of only four seasons (Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and Cult), students will have an opportunity to draw on other seasons, too.
