Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
We will discuss the use of literature in the EFL classroom from a practice-oriented point of view, thus trying things out ourselves. Also, we will look at the principles of teaching literature and its role in the Austrian school system (school books, curricula and the new Matura). This class aims at meeting students' needs and providing best practice methods and ideas.
Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students will explore in what ways literature can be used in the EFL classroom - in the form of poetry, drama, creative writing, film, etc. Students will be introduced to methods to teach literature and try them out in the course of a school visit. At the end of the class they will be equipped with ready-to-use teaching material.
