Aims, contents and method of the course
This course focuses on giving future teachers the opportunity to examine and work on their approach to teaching writing in the classroom. It covers theories behind different approaches to writing, and the practical aspects of materials development, assessment and feedback, as well as important considerations when planning a whole term;s work and assessing the way writing is presented in common course books used in many schools.
Assessment and permitted materials
The final course grade comprises:
Group presentation on theory (20%);
Report on a writing activity taught in school (20%);
Group project on writing materials (30%);
Final exam (30%).
