Aims, contents and method of the course

Assessment: Written final test (a sample test will be available for reference on the Moodle course platform)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Aims: Participants will be introduced to some of the main areas of inquiry in a dynamic and innovative field of interdisciplinary Humanities research; they will be familiarised with a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of celebrity across historical periods, social fields, and media.
Examination topics
Methods: A series of lectures by internationally renowned scholars with backgrounds in literary studies, history, cultural and media studies, film studies and gender studies approaching ‘celebrity’ from a broad range of disciplinary perspectives; the talks will be supplemented by audio-visual aids and reading assignments available on the Moodle platform.
Reading list
Reading: Material for required reading as well as a bibliography of key texts and suggested further reading will be made available on the eLearning platform.
