Aims, contents and method of the course

Analyzing Ukrainian texts at advanced levels understanding the main characteristics of literary stiles and developing capability and utilize them. Translations into Ukrainian and systematic developing of language expertise and competence in terms of various special topics, ability to comment, discuss and provide argumentation - spontaneously and with preparation - in written and oral form

Written and oral ability checks

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Understanding of press articles and original texts, ability to provide their resume written or orally; to recognize the standard and sub-standard levels of the language and to prepare own peaces of writing according to the learned normes of different stiles

Examination topics

Training in translation of original texts; reading and discussions of texts and topics; watching, analyzing and commenting films; preparing own written samples using different stiles; writing resume etc.
