Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist die Einführung in zentrale Texte der Kulturanalyse, die im Hinblick auf Kultur- und Literaturwissenschaften von Bedeutung sind. Dabei werden wir unter anderem Texte von Walter Benjamin, Georg Simmel, Michail Bachtin, Pierre Bourdieu, Sigmund Freud, Roland Barthes und Michel Foucault diskutieren. Textgrundlage bieten ein Reader, der bei der Facultas-Buchhandlung im NIG erhältlich ist sowie die 2. Auflage von Wolfgang Müller-Funk, Kulturtheorie. Einführung in Schlüsseltexte der Kulturwissenschaften, Tübingen: Francke/UTB 2010. Die Arbeitsmethode des Seminars ist das sog. Close Reading, die textintensive Lektüre von kurzen Texten und Textstücken.
Scheinerwerb: Forschungstagebuch plus eine Präsentation im Seminar. Die Übung ist auch für das Modul/Erweiterungscurriculum Kulturwissenschaften/Cultural Studies anrechenbar.
