Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar discusses relevant theories in the field od the spatial turn and will give examples of interpretations and adaptations. The Danube is seen as a typical topographic phenomenon that has at the same time a temporal dimension. We will analyze texts of Claudio Magris, Peter Esterházy and Mor Jokai and film examples.
Assessment and permitted materials
Essay, 20- 25 pages, Times New Roman ( 1 1/2)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A deeper understanding of relevant theories and concepts in the cultural theory of space and time, Area studies.
Examination topics
short lectures, team working, presentations by students, close reading, discussion, handouts, power point.
