Aims, contents and method of the course

Im Fokus des Seminars stehen die literaturtheoretischen Fragen der Referenzialität und der Fiktionalität. Im Laufe des Semesters werden theoretische Texte gelesen, die die Gattungsmerkmale und Konzepte der Autobiographie und der literarischen Soziographie untersuchen und die literarischen Aspekte des Dokumentarismus problematisieren. Die Erfahrungen, die Fragestellungen und die Anwendbarkeit der theoretischen Texte werden anhand von vier Werken (z. B.: Szálinger Balázs: Al-dunai álom; Tar Sándor: A mi utcánk) untersucht, die durch close reading und gegliederte Lektüren analysiert werden. Diese Interpretationen werden durch eine Reihe von Exkursen ergänzt, die versuchen, die Anwendbarkeit der theoretischen Rahmen durch Beispiele aus dem Bereich des Comic-Journalismus oder des dokumentarischen Comics zu nuancieren.

Assessment and permitted materials

short presentation of the master-projekt ( also in written form, about 5000 signs)
a close reading presentation plus essay ( 15 000 - 20 000 signs)

clear, and differenciated argumentation, reflexions and examples, good and readable English or German.

Pflichtliteratur und wissenschaftliche Sekundärliteratur, die am Anfang des Semesters bekanntgegeben werden. Die Liste der Pflicht- und Sekundärliteratur wird noch in der Lehrveranstaltung ergänzt.
