Aims, contents and method of the course
Continuation of the previous semester, basic grammar and vocabulary. The diverse range of text types available for Mansi will increasingly be in focus: literary texts and dialect texts in different writing systems, representing different dialects.
Assessment and permitted materials
Evaluation of learning progress over the course of the semester and an oral (online possible) exam at the end of the semester. Students can alternatively write a seminar paper based on a theoretical topic (e.g., historical linguistics of Mansi).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquisition of reading and speaking competencies commensurate with the course level.
Examination topics
Participation is mandatory; active participation will be evaluated. The students will be given access to a modern textbook. The oral examination at the end of the semester will review the content covered over the course of the semester.
Reading list
The same book will be used as in the previous course (Mansi I): A. N. Balandins Einführung in das Mansische, https://www.copius.eu/mansi/.Supplementary materials will be provided to students via Moodle.
