Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture will introduce the most important theoretical and methodological foundations and tasks encountered in linguistics through the lens of Uralic (Finno-Ugric) languages. Each lesson will introduce a subfield of linguistics (e.g. morphology, syntax, sociolinguistics); the most important methods and terminology of said subfield will be illustrated on the basis of Uralic languages (e.g. Finnish, Hungarian).

Assessment and permitted materials

Written open book exam over the subject matters covered in the semester. There are 100 points to be reached; 51 points are necessary for a positive evaluation. If you wish to give an oral exam, please contact the teacher.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students are expected to grasp and apply the content of the research presented in the course.

Examination topics

The content of the lectures is to be considered pertinent to the exam in its entirety.
