Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Experiencing bibliographical basics concerning national and comparative literature, introduction for beginners how to use university libraries and archives. Knowledge of literary historical documents, archive records, author manuscripts, history of books and printing.

Assessment and permitted materials

For further study students will have to do some short exercises in written form and papers as well. We will compare their results together within the following meeting. I state explicitly that students shall discuss our topics and present their results to the audience coram publico.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students may get to know the importance of scientific libraries and archives and how to use these institutions for study.
They will get experience in how to use bibliographical means and reference books.
They will learn how to write scientific papers and how to cite scientific literature correctly.

Examination topics

Analysis of an authoritative source and its literary historical environment. Interpretation of two written texts and practicing scientific basics of search, means and knowledge.
