Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

We will explore the tumultuous literary heritage of the first wave of Russian emigration, a period marked by profound displacement, cultural upheaval, and the search for identity in foreign lands.
Studying the works of émigré writers who, torn from their homeland by the seismic shifts of the early 20th century, crafted narratives of loss, longing, and resilience, we’ll witness the birth of a new literary tradition, forged in the crucible of exile and shaped by the turbulent currents of time. This course offers not just a study of literature, but an exploration of the human spirit's capacity to create, adapt, and endure amidst the chaos of a world in flux.
