Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The major objective of this course is introducing students to reading easy Hindi texts and improving their listening and speaking skills. This semester, we will read dialogues of Hindi movies and cartoons. The class meetings are divided into formal lecturing, close reading, presentation and discussion. Besides close reading of some film dialogues and watching them, students will perform few selected clips of the film in small groups at the end of the semester.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Regular attendance, active participation in the discussion and performance, and home assignments are strictly demanded from every participant. The class will be conducted in Hindi and therefore a very good knowledge of Hindi is expected from the students.
Method of assessment: Final performance of the film clips and participation (50%), an essay of 1, 500 words (in Hindi) on a given topic at the end of the semester (25%) and, regular attendance, participation and home works (25%)
