Aims, contents and method of the course

The course will deal with a selection of Old Babylonian literary texts written in Akkadian (omens, literary letters, hymns, prayers). The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge of Akkadian grammar and the cuneiform script.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course's aim is to improve the students' knowledge of Akkadian grammar and of the cuneiform script and to introduce them to Old Babylonian literary texts.

Examination topics

the texts will be read in class; students are required to prepare for this; in addition, they will give short presentations on pertinent topics.
