Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The objective of this class is to enable students, under expert guidance and supervision, to read and analyze representative articles and stories of Hindi literature. The text selected for this class will be based on Indian cities. We will focus on the description of Indian cities, life style, problems and special features from the literary texts selected for the class.
Regular attendance, active participation in the class and home assignments are strictly demanded from every participant. The class will be conducted in Hindi and therefore interested students must have a very good knowledge of Hindi grammar.

Assessment and permitted materials

Method of assessment: text preparation and written exam 50%, an essay of 1,500 words (in Hindi) on a given topic at the end of the semester (25%) and, regular attendance, participation and home works (25%).
