Assessment and permitted materials
• Preparation of assigned texts and active participation in class.
• The employment of a dictionary (Ottoman-Turkish/German/English) is allowed and required.
Knowledge of English required.• 1 presentation.
• 1 seminar paper (ca. 20 pages; deadline 31.03.2018), followed by an oral discussion at the lecturer’s discretion.• Three absences allowed (including illness, travel abroad, etc.).
• Unprepared equals absent.
