Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents:
1. Getting to know the Arabic-Persian prosody, 'arûz.
2. Getting acquainted with Ottoman metaphors, similes and concepts in verse.
Method: instruction and exercise.

Assessment and permitted materials

No final examination, but see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirements for a positive evaluation is attendance (missing thrice is the maximum permitted) and active collaboration (preparing the practice texts and homework) as well as positive results on small oral tests. The accomplishments regarding collaboration and tests (also possibly small written tests) will be taken as basis for evaluation in the ratio of 60 : 40.
