Although attendance is not compulsory, active participation in the discussions and exercises during the course is very helpful for passing the exam.Please note: The positive completion of the STEOP as a whole (i.e. SPRAWI, LITWI and GEWI) is a prerequisite for taking the exams for other courses in African Studies!It is therefore advisable to attend the first date if possible (before the Christmas holidays) in order to be able to attend the second date in mid-January if necessary.
If necessary, further dates will be offered at the beginning and in the middle of the summer semester.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Both parts of the examination, i.e. oral examination ( 75%) AND submission of the bibliography (25%), must be conducted.Grading scheme:
Very good: 100-90 per cent
Good: 89-75 percent
Satisfactory: 74-60 percent
Sufficient: 59-50 percent
Not sufficient: 49-0 percent
