Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Ability to read, transcribe and translate simple Ottoman prose texts of various periods with the help of a dictionary (printed texts, no manuscripts).

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment of course work, preparations of the texts and active participation are required. Two tests, one in November, one end of January.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Compulsory attendance; preparation of the distributed texts.
Two compulsory tests, of which one has to be positive to successfully complete the course.

Examination topics

Grammar according to the course materials, translation and transliteration of a simple Ottoman text

Skriptum "Osmanisch " von G. Procházka-Eisl.
Wird in der ersten Unterrichtsstunde ausgeteilt.
