Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Seminary on Arabic administrative works (including encyclopedias) from the Mamluk period in Egypt and Syria. Introduction into the most important works on this subject, reading of texts with translation and interpretation, accompagnied by presentations on literary history, cultural or general history.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular active cooperation and contributions, continous preparation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Regular participation (absence at most three times), regular active cooperation and contributions, presentations, term paper. Relation of presentation / term paper : contributions 10 : 90. If necessary, with regard to Covid19, the lessons in form of personal presence might be replaced through other possibilities of teaching.
