Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The purpose of the course is to introduce to graduate students the main themes of Bhartṛhari's philosophy, especially with regard to metaphysics. We are going to read select passages from Bhartṛhari's masterwork, the Vākyapadīya
Assessment and permitted materials
Prerequisites for obtaining a positive grade are attendance (three absences are tolerated if compensation tasks are completed), careful preparation and follow-up, active participation, the completion of homework on time and a written paper at the end of the semester.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Adequate knowledge of Sanskrit
