Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The major objective of this course is to improve conversation skills in Hindi. Each class will have a specific topic to discuss. The topics will be divided among the students so that they can prepare related vocabulary and other materials to help with conversation practice. Class meetings will be divided into formal lectures, presentations, conversation and discussion. Students will prepare their own introductory texts on various topics and present them in class. Any grammatical or other mistakes will be corrected in class with additional grammar exercises if needed. The course will be conducted in Hindi and therefore students are expected to have a very good knowledge of Hindi.
Assessment and permitted materials
Three oral presentations in Hindi, regular attendance, active participation in discussions and homework are strictly required from each participant. The presentation will be followed by a discussion. Participation in the discussion is strongly encouraged. Each student is required to make three presentations in Hindi during the semester. They should also submit all written assignments.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The main part of the assessment will be devoted to the student's oral performance. Each student must show his/her progress in communication skills by the end of the semester. The evaluation will be based on :

Examination topics
Good conversational and presentation skills on a variety of topics in Hindi.
