For Muslims, for their part, the novel experience is above all to live as a minority in a pluralistic society and to identify and participate as part of that society.
Under the special conditions of Europe, the education of Muslim children in the process of becoming at home in Europe is of great importance, so that the Muslims growing up here grow up identically with this new homeland.
In this seminar, we will not only deal with the educational theories of Islam, but also with their contemporary significance in the inner-Islamic debates in Europe.
The seminar will focus on the question of how Muslims and Muslim educational institutions respond to the challenges of a plural society so that young people growing up in Europe can meet these challenges.
In presenting the educational situation of Muslims in Europe, an attempt will be made to integrate experts from Europe into the seminar by means of a live link.
