Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to get to know and reflect on the subject matter, reference theories and methodologies of religious education.
The course provides an overview of research in religious education on the subject areas, reference theories and methodologies of religious education and encourages critical reflection on them.
Methods of the course are preparatory reading, presentations, discussions and group work.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Participation in discussions
- giving a short presentation including the preparation of a handout
- Completion of a written paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements
- Compulsory attendance, students are allowed two unexcused absences.
- The presentation is mandatory.
- The seminar paper should contain approximately 10 to a maximum of 15 pages.

Assessment standard:
Presentation: 25 points
Seminar paper: 50 points (specified/agreed deadline must be met)
Participation in the discussion phases (constructive, technically correct contributions and engagement in the discussion of the presentations): 25 points

Minimum requirement: At least 40 points are required for a positive assessment.

2: 70-84 points
