The event will take place on site. In the first session (October 10th), there will be a brief introduction to the research on rural Japan at the Institute. We will then identify the students' areas of interest, present the course schedule, and discuss the topic assignment for the following sessions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Presentation, elaboration, active participation. For a positive evaluation all partial performances must be fulfilled!
Attendance is compulsory (>80% attendance). Thus, three (out of 14) session can be missed without an excuse. Attendance at the first session counts as taking the "exam". If you sign out by October 31 (6pm), you will not be graded. Absence in the first session will result in automatic withdrawal from the course.Grading Key:Presentation: 30%
Elaboration: 50%
Active participation: 20%
