Assessment and permitted materials
One written exam at the end of the semester, covering
1. Translations Japanese->German. All Japanese texts in this part of the exam are based on patterns and sentences from the coursebook. No additional vocabulary is required.
2. Kanji-passive: For every kanji in this part of the test, one on-reading, one kun-reading, and alongside either on- or kun-reading the corresponding meaning in German has to be added.
3. Questions regarding etymology and typology of the sinojapanese characters
4. Determination of stroke order, number of strokes, and most sensible candidate for the key radical .
NOTE: You may use a printed dictionary of your first language/German for the exam, but obviously no Japanese or character dictionaries are allowed. Also, digital dictionaries cannot be used (e.g. mobile phones etc.). All dictionaries have to be shown to the invigilator for inspection before the exam starts.

Prüfungsstoff ist für den Prüfungsteil 1 (Übersetzung) das gesamte Lehrbuch. Für die anderen Prüfungsteile stehen jeweils eigene Skripten auf Moodle zur Verfügung, deren Inhalt nach den auf Moodle angegebenen Kritierien abgeprüft wird.

Coursebook: Shin Bunka Shokyû Nihongo, vol 1 and vol 2, published by Bonjinsha. Can be bought from various sources, including FACULTAS, loacted in Hof 1 / Campus AAKH. (Please note that older versions prior to the 2013 iteration of this book cannot be used)
