Aims, contents and method of the course

2. K-Fashion vs. Global Fashion
3. The spread of K-Beauty and its relationship with Hallyu
4. From Cosmetic Surgery to Piercings: Body Modification Culture
5. Youth Culture in South Korea and its visual presence
6. Gender and Sexuality through the visual lens

Assessment and permitted materials

The Students are required to attend every unit of the course, actively participate (especially during the discussion of readings/ homework): 20%,
Presentation: 30%
Final Paper: 50 %

Bi-weekly readings are part of the active classroom-participation as well as researching articles from print and online media of the daily press and scholarly kind, which are required to upload onto the e-learning platform (moodle).
