Focus are different films of the Japanese colonial rule (Sayon's Bell, Kano, Sefdiq Bale) and current Asian films dealing with Japan or the Japanese colonial rule as well as the influence of Japanese pop culture. Several external experts analyze Taiwanese films as an example/ a case for the whole of Asia. Input of students from other Asean countries is welcome.
