Aims, contents and method of the course
Aim: knowledge of the characteristica of martial law (1949-87) in Taiwan and impact on youth's lives with a focus on Taiwanese film and TV series Detention.
Assessment and permitted materials
Course requirements and grading
1. The course will be conducted on-site through face-to-face communication, unless the change of circumstances warrants the mode of teaching to be changed. Your attendance to each class and participation in regular discussions is mandatory.
2. The course includes a number of presentation and discussion sessions. And also special events, where participation is mandatory.
4. You are allowed to be absent in one class without excuse. Any more absence will result in a penalty. Missing more than three classes will result in disqualification to continue the course.
5. Grading scheme
Regular attendance accounts - 10%
Participation in class activities – 30%
Presentation – 20%
Term paper – 40%Grade conversion table
Score 100-90 Grade 1
Score 89-80 Grade 2
Score 79-70 Grade 3
Score 69-60 Grade 4
Score 59-0 Grade 5
6. The format and contents of the class as well as associated course requirements and grading scheme are subject to modifications so that they are compatible to the number of students and Covid-19 related public health measures.
