Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Language:Chinese, English
Aims:
1.Consolidation of the Hanyu Pinyin System learned in the first semester.
2.Pronunciation training of higher level of the modern Chinese including pause,tone and stress.
3.Increasing the competence to free,oral communication

Contents:
1.Following and listening to the text of textbook at different tempos and reading with focus on correct pronunciation.
2.Reading exercises (characters, Pinyin) to train the fluency of pronunciation. 3.Listening exercises and Pinyin dictations to discriminate against similar pronounciations
4.Additional pronunciation exercises using pictures or exercises without visual cues.

Methods:
1.Distance education, lecture will be hold online using Jitsi (web conferencing software).
2.Dictation of the lecture should be handwritten,photographed and uploaded using Whatsapp or to the Email of the teacher in the given time.
3.Audio file of homework or examination results whould be submitted similarly.

Assessment and permitted materials

10% Pinyin dictations or alternative listening comprehension exercises.
20% weekly delivery of audio recordings or home practice.
30% Four times of recording homework (counting performance)
40% Mid/Final examination

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Standard formulation:
Please be sure to attend the first lecture at 05.10.2020 otherwise you will not be able to attend the lecture. If you were sick or have some other reasons, you should write to the teacher with Email.

1.In order to be graded positively, you must not fail to attend class more than once. In special cases you should provide medical certificate and contact the teacher with Email.
2.ATTENTION: Due to the form of distance learning, the delivery of the weekly recordings will be considered as "attendance".

89.5-100 = Very Good (1)
79.5-89.4 = Good (2)
69.5-79.4 = satisfactory (3)
59.5-69.4 = Sufficient (4)
<59.5 Not enough (5)

Examination topics

1.Form
Intermediate (perhaps at 23.11.20) and final exams (perhaps at 25.01.21) will be done in certain time in the form of a recording, without the help of other people and without the help of a dictionary or textbook. Students should submit the recording and the written results of dictation to the teacher in a certain time period.
2.Topic
For the final exam: Lesson 11-20 of 《在汉学系学习汉语》.
