Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Seminar contents is the current Chinese criminal law, mainly the Criminal Code of 1997 and the Criminal Procedure Law of 1996. The seminar chooses a number of topics for in-depth discussion and analysis, namely: corruption, intra-party punishments, and the death penalty.

Assessment and permitted materials

1) mandatory attendance and oral participation 2) short essay 3) presentation of article or/and Strupp; Dikötter, Mühlhahn, Harry Wu: siehe Handapparat case translation 4) end term paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

students learn and practice their capacity of formulating academically a topic of their choice. They accumulate and present the things learned in a end-term paper

Einführung in das Thema durch die LV - essayistische Behandlung eines Teilaspekts durch die Studierenden - Einarbeitung in die Sekundärliteratur - Erarbeitung und Formulierung einer wissenschaftlichen Themenstellung für die Hausarbeit - Umsetzung des Themas durch die Hausarbeit: Präsentation + Referat, Diskussionsteilnahme
