Aims, contents and method of the course

Einführung in die grundlegende Thematik der Populären Musik, wie massenhafte Produktion, Verbreitung und Aneignung, Interdependenz mit den Massenmedien und Gebundenheit an die Musikmärkte, sowie Vermittlung von Einblicken in deren bisherige und fortlaufende Geschichte, deren Einbettung in der Gesamtkultur und der Gesellschaft und deren musikalische Struktur an ausgewählten Beispielen.
