Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture forms the basis for the study of spoken language. It deals with the main areas of linguistic phonetics, in particular articulatory and acoustic phonetics, as well as the most important areas of phonology and the more recent theories of phonology.
Assessment and permitted materials
3 Teilprüfungen im Laufe des Semesters.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participants are to be familiarised with the main characteristics of spoken language from a phonetic and phonological point of view so that they are equipped for more advanced classes in phonology. At the same time they will become familiar with the basics of phonetic transcription and of using acoustic analysis software.
