Aims, contents and method of the course
This course gives a survey and a first orientation in the wide and rich area of medieval literature from Ireland. The various literary genres will be examined and exemplified by the most important texts and literary figures.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Survey of medieval Irish literature, private reading of selected works.
Examination topics
For the final assessment it is necessary to sit a written exam and to read selected peaces of literature privately in translation. A list of texts will be announced in the course.
