Aims, contents and method of the course

Survey of discourse analytic research in narrative; theoretical and methodological issues. Institutional and/or professional contexts: illness narratives in doctor-patient-interaction, dream reports, life-recollections (narrative interviews).
Contributions of research to various disciplinary and professional fields.

Assessment and permitted materials

Verbal presentation on the basis of a written paper

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Theoretical and methodological knowledge acquisition in narrative research, practice of research by conducting an individual project (from data collection to the evaluation of results).

Examination topics

Survey lectures, joint work on video- and audio recordings and transcripts
