Aims, contents and method of the course

In this class you will learn to think about language as a formal system. We discuss the most important levels on which languages can be systematically analysed. And we learn some basic results of linguistic research, and, more importantly, what questions linguists ask and how they find the answers to them.

Diese Vorlesung führt in grundlegende Eigenschaften natürlicher menschlicher Sprachen ein und bildet so eine Voraussetzung für alle weiteren Veranstaltungen innerhalb der Sprachwissenschaft. Studierende kennen grundlegende Fragen der allgemeinen Sprachwissenschaft und ihre Teilgebiete (Phonologie, Morphologie, Syntax und Semantik), sowie Spracherwerb und Natur der menschlichen Sprache.

Examination topics

Themen die in die Vorlesung behandelt werden.
0-50% = negativ
51-64% = genügend
65-77% = befriedigend
78-89% = gut
90% und mehr = sehr gut
