Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
(1) Regular attendance (10%), (2) presentation of the own BA project during the course (15%) and term paper (= concept for the BA thesis; 60%)). All written examinations will be checked by the Turnitin text similarity checker ("plagiarism test"). (4) Final test on all areas which were discussed in the course (15%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquisition of skills in applying basic methods of Applied Linguistics and application of these skills in an empirical project.
Examination topics
Input by instructors; students are required to design a research concept; written exam on the discussed contents.
Reading list
A bibliography will be provided in the course.

In this course, the methods are introduced and discussed. The participants are expected to design a research concept for an empirical Bachelor's thesis, which will be elaborated in the winter semester 2024/25 within the BA-Seminar in Applied Linguistics 1 (BA-APM10a).
