Aims, contents and method of the course

Inhalte und Methode: In den letzten Jahren haben statistische Methoden in der Linguistik zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen. Diese Lehrveranstaltung vermittelt grundlegende Konzepte und Methoden der Statistik anhand linguistischer Fragestellungen. Die Demonstration computergestützter Analysen erfolgt mittels open-source Software R.
Ziele: Vertrautheit mit Grundlagen der deskriptiven und analytischen Statistik; Einsatz von Statistik-Software zur Beschreibung und Analyse quantitativer Daten.

Assessment and permitted materials

Schriftliche Prüfung am Ende des Semesters (keine Hilfsmittel erlaubt)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mindestens 50% der maximal erreichbaren Punktezahl muss bei der Prüfung erreicht werden, um positiv beurteilt zu werden

Lehrvortrag und kurze gemeinsame Übungen; ein Fragenkatalog wird vorab zur Verfügung gestellt
