Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This proseminar focuses on linguistic minority research. This means we will address the question of who "counts" as a minority, of the related political, economical and social challenges, and of which research goals are formulated within linguistics. In order to grant studentsdirect insight into this research domaine, this semester will be driven by small research project of students.

After an introduction of the basic literature and issues, students will develop small scale research projects in groups on language minorities in Vienna. They will present their results at the end of the semester on the basis of websites created for their projects, followed by a project report.
