Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this reading seminar the primary aim is to acquaint student with current
psycholinguistic debates of mechanisms of language production and comprehension, and the methods used in studying these processes. We start from the contrast between modular and interactionist approaches and review experimental behavioral and neurobiological evidence supporting them. In both comprehension and production, we will focus on the lexical,
morphological and sentence levels as interfaces of knowledge-based and data-based processes. In production, beside hesitation methods and the analysis of speech errors we will also talk about the conversational embedding of multifactorial models.

Assessment and permitted materials

oral presentation on one of the topics int he seminar, and a final
paper giving a critical review of a debated issue in production or comprehension.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
