Aims, contents and method of the course

Depending on the preferences of the audience, various topics from the history of Indo-European studies will be discussed in greater detail, topics such as, e.g., the various stabs at reconstructing the Proto-Indo-European verbal system, and the important role played by Indo-European studies in shaping National Socialist ideology.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

It is the aim of the course to provide especially advanced students with a better understanding of the history of Indo-European studies and the role those studies played on their part in the history of ideas.

Examination topics

The methods used will be mostly the ones of the Viennese Indo-European School.
Examinations: depending on the preferences of the audience.
