Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Overview on Middle Iranian languages with respect to their philological attestation and grammatical system (esp. historical phonology and morphology) with a focus on East Middle Iranian. The detailed plan for the term cn be found on Moodle. Students will become familiar with the state-of-the-art research on the respective language and be able to work with Middle Iranian language material for further linguistic research questions.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam (4 possible dates).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Basic knowledge of terminology of historical lingusitics is required, experience with reading manuscripts are of advantage but not necessary. Knowledge of Ancient Iranian languages is also of advantage.
