use of dictionary "Foclóir Póca" allowed (will be ordered together at the beginning of the course)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
no previous knowledge of Irish is necessary for this course. However, interest in languages and linguistics would help.
Examination topics
a variety of resources (books + own resourcs) used in the lecture. Although a lecture, participation of students is actively promoted and welcome!
Reading list
I recommend, that every student has a dictionary e.g. Foclóir Póca, Publ. An Gúm (will be ordered together at the beginning of the course). There are alternatives in the internet (focloir.ie) but they often give the student too much information. Working with small compact dictionary is generally easier.
