Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course is devoted to the issues concerning the acquisition of syntax of a second language.
Assessment and permitted materials
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course manual provides an introduction to both the generative ideas connected to language acquisition (i.e. Principles and Parameters, Universal Grammar, etc.) and the theories of SLA for these students who might need it, and it combines it with a more advanced overview of works and analyses related to SLA within a generative framework.
Examination topics
The material to be discussed in class is base don Roger Hawkins's (2001) book entitled "Second Language Syntax: a generative approach".
