Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The UE deals with non-monogamous relationships such as polyamory or relationship anarchy and their representation (or non-representation) in contemporary performing arts. Based on contributions by academics, activists and artists at the "Non-Monogamies and Contemporary Intimacies Conference", which deal with consensual non-monogamy in research, politics and practice, we will examine the trends presented and their critical discussion in current performance, dance and theater works (Wiener Festwochen, Tanzquartier Wien, brut etc). Reflection on the performances visited will be both conceptual and performative and will be accompanied by theory readings and discussions in small groups and in plenary.
The aim is to recognize and classify sociological and philosophical theories in performative works, with a focus on contemporary discourses on intimacy.
