Logically, one can also use a historical-comparative approach: the shapeshifter is an archetype; examples of metamorphoses are countless throughout the millennia and mythologies. From Zeus, who transforms into a bull, to the werewolf and Dracula. The psychoanalytical view of antiquity and the present is also exciting. We will examine the relationship between inside and outside. Dr. Jekyll can only turn into Mr. Hyde because Mr. Hyde has to hide inside Dr. Jekyll. The boundaries of shape-shifting and masking overlap: masks also cause a "shift", - physically and often also psychologically.
