Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, Humphrey Bogart, Joan Crawford, Lilli Palmer, Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger, Tarzan, Lassie, Bugs Bunny und Superman: Sie alle kämpfen im Zweiten Weltkrieg im Dienste der alliierten Filmpropaganda gegen die Nazis. Zwischen 1939 und 1945 entstehen in Hollywood ca. 180 Anti-Nazi-Spielfilme, in Großbritannien rund 80. Dazu kommen unzählige dokumentarische Arbeiten jeder Länge und viele Animationsfilme. Im Seminar werden wir US-amerikanische und britische Produktionen im zeitgeschichtlichen politischen und propagandistischen Zusammenhang untersuchen.
