Aims, contents and method of the course

In dieser Übung wird es anhand von konkreten Beispielen um eine Einführung in die verschiedenen Zusammenhänge von Migration und Medien gehen. Migration soll medial gedacht werden und Medien unter dem Aspekt der Migration betrachtet werden. Dabei werden verschiedene theoretische Konzepte, mit denen Medien und Migration bislang zusammen gedacht wurden, wie mediascapes’ (Arjun Appadurai), ‚migratory aesethtics’ (Mieke Bal) und ‚mobile commons’ (Vassilis Tsianos, Dimitris Parsanoglu, Nicos Trimikliniotis) vorgestellt und diskutiert.
Methoden: Einführungsvortrag, gemeinsame und individuelle Textlektüre und -diskussion, Analyse von Beispielen sowie eigene Materialrecherche.

(Gruppen-)Referat / Präsentation (40%, muss verschriftlicht abgegeben werden), Lese-/Textkarten bzw. Kommentare (30%), Essay (30%)
