The aim of the course is to make it easier for you to settle into the tfm Master's program - regardless of whether you did your BA with us or at another university - and to get to know your fellow students with whom you will be working towards your MA degree over the next few semesters.
The content of the course is grouped around methodological work at MA level. In the course, we will work on methodological concepts from the overarching field of Cultural studies (the course teacher belongs to Theatre Studies). Together, we will consider how you can find and develop your own research focus in the coming semesters. This work will be supplemented by inputs from other tfm teaching staff who will present their research and methods, and who may open up new areas of focus for you, or even provide you with a starting point for your own Master's thesis.
The methods of the course are group and individual work, text readings, joint discussions and discussions with guests.
