Aims, contents and method of the course

Reseachers from the core disciplines of cognitive science at the University of Vienna and Medical University of Vienna introduce their research topics and approaches in short evening talks.

Assessment: reports on the talks

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: Written exam. Time: 90 minutes. Choose three lectures, one form the humanities, one from natural science, one from formal science and answer given questions for each of the chosen lectures. (About 500 words per question.)

First examination date: 2 February 2016, 18:30, HS 34, Main University Building
Second and third examination dates: T.B.A.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

" Familiarity with individual researchers' questions and approaches
" Insight into the field and scientific culture of the core disciplines of cognitive science
" Insight how a particular way to pose a scientific question is related to the methodology chosen

Examination topics

During the lecture series students get to know different research questions, topics, approaches and methods of the core disciplines of cognitive science.
